Add to Things Bookmarklet

Introduction

“Add to Things” bookmarklet, mostly based on Alex Popescu’s one for Omnifocus, provides an easy way to add current web page in your browser to Things to create a new todo.

Thanks to Alex’s great job, this bookmarklet can do more than just sending url and title. Quoted Alex:

For GMail, the bookmarklet creates a new task with the email title as the task title and a note with the current selection (if any), plus a from line in the form: From: email subject:(email subject) email_thread_url.

For normal web pages, the bookmarklet creates a new task with the document title as the task title and a note with the current selection (if any), plus a from line in the form: From: page_url.

How to Use

To use it, drag the bookmarklet below and drop it to your toolbar/bookmarks bar:

Add to Things

That’s it. Now, with Things run, select some text and push the bookmarklet. It should work like this:

The Flaw

If Things is not running, the first click on the bookmarklet will only start Things. You have to click again to make it happen.
